What They Have Accomplished
John and Brenda Mohan (Moh-an) bring an over 40-year career of pastoral and organizational leadership, and a successful entrepreneurial career. Both are graduates of International Bible College. As well, John is a graduate of the Arrow Executive Program.
Beginning in 1979, he and Brenda (nee. Siggelkow) pastored 22 years within the Church of God in Western Canada (Cleveland Tenn). In December of 2001 they moved to Winnipeg to assume the leadership of a small, unknown street mission (Siloam Mission). Under their joint leadership, Siloam grew over the next eight years, emerging to become a Manitoba-wide household name with multi-faceted programs, operating with a $6.5m annual budget, 80 staff, and over 7,000 annual volunteers to serve the inner city poor and homeless. Siloam Mission gave John opportunity to speak to service groups and associations, university classes, congregations of various denominations, as well as a regular commentary on CHVN radio, a weekly column in the Winnipeg Sun, and countless media interviews.
Upon leaving Siloam in 2009, John briefly served as CEO of the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre Foundation before launching out as an Executive coach and nonprofit and business consultant.
The Mohans returned home to Moose Jaw in 2013 to help support Brenda’s aging parents. During that time, John took the role of Regional Director of Turning Leaf Services (which focuses on people with intellectual disabilities) before launching a successful contract painting business. Brenda continued her stellar career as an office and HR manager, and financial bookkeeper. Meanwhile, they also served their thriving local church (Moose Jaw Church of God) as home group leaders, congregational elders (John is vice-chair), and occasional pulpit supply.
John is also vice-chair of Katepwa Lake Camp, and together they still provide executive coaching, and both church and nonprofit consulting - with particular emphasis on communication and fund development, branding and marketing, as well as board and staff development. They see organizational mission and culture clarity, and intentional alignment as foundational to any healthy (and therefore, growing) church, organization, or business.
John and Brenda are known for their optimism, visionary outlook, and assessing issues from the “30,000 feet level”, while also analyzing and assisting in administrative processes. They share a deep love for, and commitment to Christ and his church as well as the broader community.
